The masterclass series in film lighting
Established in 2018, Aputure has hosted a number of Film Lighting EXperience (FLEX) events centered around advanced lighting concepts in motion picture production. From lighting poor man's processes to professional practical light rigging, this film lighting series aims to challenge traditional norms and teach more modern methods of light craft. For each workshop, we bring you prominent members of the film lighting community, including the likes of Julian White (Game of Thrones, The Martian) to teach you key practices and fundamentals.
See the lights in action
After you learn about how the lights are used, it's your chance to try them out. We always bring our latest and greatest gear to these events, and we have experts that will walk you through every feature of an Aputure light that you're curious about. Feel free to play with the settings, program them with Sidus Link, and meter them to your heart's content. Come to our demo area to exhibit how colorful our Electro Storm units are, or how precise our Spotlight Max is.

Chief Lighting Technician
With credits such as Game of Thrones, The Martian, and Crazy Rich Asians, Julian White has imparted his lighting experience in a 45-minute advanced lighting masterclass. This presentation will allow you to follow his creative and technical thought processes as he demonstrates how he would light a complex scene using fixtures such as our INFINIBARs, Electro Storms, and the MC Pro.

As a cinematographer with an expertise in color science, Tim Kang will take us through lighting a complex scene while providing in-depth explanations on the science behind new and old lighting concepts. His presentation will utilize the INFINIBARs in innovative ways, capitalizing on their unique form factor and color science.
